Welcome to Learn to Roller Skate Level 1.  HI! My name is Elaine.  I am the Co-Founder of Retro Rollers Inc, and your roller skate Instructor!  I’m excited to teach you how to safely slow down and stop, stride, transition and touch on backwards skating all while building your confidence and understanding how to utilize your body to move gracefully. In addition to those skills, knowing how to poise yourself to keep your balance in check, and even catch your balance to prevent falls.  We have you covered!  If you are super nervous, it is very recommended to bring safety gear.  We recommend wrist guards, helmet, elbow and knee pads – or at least at minimum wrist and helmet protection.  You will be happy you did!

*NEW* Intro to Rhythm – Adults 14+ (starting Feb 15th)

DESCRIPTION: You are intrigued perhaps by “dance roller skating” or what we call Rhythm Skating, and you are unsure how movements are broken down.  You need some instruction that explains and dissects movements, (where the weight is in your boots, how to balance, etc.). Intro to Rhythm will provide you with excellent break downs of movements that are gentle, yet has you feeling fulfilled and finally understanding how it’s done when you leave each class.  Before taking this class, you should know how to stand, roll forwards, backwards, stop, lift one foot with some confidence.  This is a 4 week progressive introductory rhythm course.
