Adult Learn to Roller Skate Level 1 (Starting May 29th)

You might be curious if this is something you would like to do, and just want to get started to see if you like roller skating, or possibly you are someone that’s just ready to receive instruction so you can safely add more skills at a pace that feels right, this is your class!  This is the ultra-basic course you’ve been waiting for! Welcome to Learn to Roller Skate Level 1.  HI! My name is Elaine.  I am the Co-Founder of Retro Rollers Inc, and your roller skate Instructor!  I’m excited to teach you how to safely slow down and stop, stride, transition and touch on backwards skating all while building your confidence and understanding how to utilize your body to move gracefully. In addition to those skills, knowing how to poise yourself to keep your balance in check, and even catch your balance to prevent falls.  We have you covered!  If you are super nervous, it is very recommended to bring safety gear.  We recommend wrist guards, helmet, elbow and knee pads – or at least at minimum wrist and helmet protection.  You will be happy you did! *NEW* Intro to Rhythm – Adults 14+ (starting Feb 15th)

DESCRIPTION: You are intrigued perhaps by “dance roller skating” or what we call Rhythm Skating, and you are unsure how movements are broken down.  You need some instruction that explains and dissects movements, (where the weight is in your boots, how to balance, etc.). Intro to Rhythm will provide you with excellent break downs of movements that are gentle, yet has you feeling fulfilled and finally understanding how it’s done when you leave each class.  Before taking this class, you should know how to stand, roll forwards, backwards, stop, lift one foot with some confidence.  This is a 4 week progressive introductory rhythm course.

Intro to QUADFIT – Fitness on Roller Skates for Beginners, with ELAINE

Intro to QuadFit is a 1 hour class (with breaks) for individuals over the age of 14 that are curious about QuadFit, and are really wanting to see if it’s right for them.  Perhaps you are also wanting to improve strength, balance, core stability and cardiovascular endurance – all while wearing roller skates! Intro to QuadFit is beginner level drill work and minimal rolling. There is much stepping to the beat of the music as well as floor work. This does involve balance and core work to control your roll.  Elaine will guide you through every roll! Please register for a single class and give it a try!
